Volunteering provides many benefits to both mental and physical health. It connects you to others, is good for your mind and body, can advance your career and bring fun and fulfilment to your life. The benefits could be life-changing.

Volunteers are important to Simon Community Scotland and their contribution is valued. It’s our policy to offer out-of-pocket expenses incurred on our behalf.

Volunteer information

The first step in your volunteering journey is to view the Volunteer Information video. This is where we tell you a little about us and what you can expect from our Volunteering Service.

About becoming a volunteer:

We have volunteer roles in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Roles include Street Team, Support Hubs, Period Friendly and StreetCycles. Available roles are displayed below and you can apply by clicking to read more.
Once you've watched the video, you can choose the role you're interested in from the list below to find out more about it – you can then apply directly. Once your Application is submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know the next steps.
Depending on the role, we may need to do a PVG check. Full training for the role will be provided.
Due to the work we do, you must be 18 or over to be a Simon Community Scotland volunteer.

Having Fun

"I’ve had some of my happiest moments this year, cycling around Glasgow in the blazing sunshine (ok, sometimes pouring rain!). I can easily fit volunteering around my day job, picking up products and delivering to my Points when suits me…often 7pm on my way to dinner in town!
There are fun opportunities to develop the Period Friendly Project, e.g. with our Pants Drive, and engage with the other services within Simon Community."

Giving something back
