River Garden - Volunteer Coordinator
We are looking for an exceptional Volunteering Coordinator to be the driving force behind our volunteer programme, enhancing our community ethos and expanding our impact.
This role is being advertised on behalf of River Garden Auchincruive
River Garden, Ayrshire is a unique therapeutic community dedicated to helping individuals recover from drug and alcohol addiction by empowering them to rediscover their talents, develop new skills, and find purpose.
About the Role: The Impact You'll Make
You will be responsible for supporting our current volunteer team and grow the team to help support our residents in their recovery journey. You will recruit, train and support our volunteers through the volunteers lifecycle.
Our aim is to create opportunities for volunteers to get involved in supporting the vision of River Garden and in doing so the residents we support experience new relationships, perspectives and experiences in connecting with different communities.
You will work collaboratively with the wider team to identify and create volunteer opportunities across the site, support residents to engage with the wider community and add value to the service by providing meaningful opportunities and experience for our volunteers. Your work will involve:
- Volunteer Management: Managing the volunteer lifecycle, from advertising and recruiting to training, deployment, and supervision, ensuring all processes are safe and efficient.
- Community & Business Engagement: Actively developing and nurturing relationships with local and national businesses to promote CSR activities. Source training opportunities and create crucial work placements and employment pathways for residents.
- Profile Raising: Taking the lead on discrete creative projects, events, and social media to increase the profile of River Garden within the wider community.
- Advocacy: Acting as a liaison between River Garden and external employers, helping to drive the benefits of hiring people in recovery and building a network of "recovery-friendly" employers.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a positive approach in all they do.
- Is a natural connector who enjoys creating new connections and engaging people in understanding our mission.
- Can work independently and is creative in developing new projects and opportunities.
- Is a problem solver with a strong focus on action
- Models our core values of dignity, respect, care, and compassion in every interaction.
